About Yunus Mohamed

The person behind the practice

Ease Consultancy was built on one belief: that every person deserves a space where they can speak honestly, without fear of being judged or misunderstood. Yunus Mohamed has spent over 22 years creating exactly that space for hundreds of clients across the UK and beyond.
His Story

More than two decades of listening, learning, and helping people heal

Yunus Mohamed qualified as a professional counsellor with a BSc (Hons) in Professional Counselling from the University of Salford. Since then, he has built one of the most varied practices of any therapist working in the North West of England, gaining experience across individual therapy, couples counselling, family mediation, school-based support, community health programmes, and NHS partnerships.

That breadth of experience matters. It means that whatever you bring to your first session, whether it is something you have been carrying for years or a crisis that has just emerged, Yunus has almost certainly helped someone through something similar. He knows how to hold that weight with you.

In 2019, Yunus was honoured with a National Mental Health Award in recognition of his contribution to mental health and community wellbeing. It is an acknowledgement of work that was always about the people, never the recognition.
Today, Yunus runs Ease Consultancy from Bolton, offering sessions in person, by video, over the phone, and through live chat or secure messaging. Clients come from across the UK.

How Yunus Works

A person-centred, integrative approach that puts you in the lead

No two people are the same. No two journeys through counselling are the same either. That is why Yunus takes an integrative, person-centred approach rather than applying a single fixed method to every client.

Person-centred therapy means that you are the expert on your own life. Yunus’s role is not to tell you what to do or hand you a list of solutions. It is to create the conditions where you can think clearly, explore honestly, and arrive at your own understanding of what needs to change and how.

The integrative part means Yunus draws from several therapeutic frameworks depending on what is most useful for you. These include cognitive behavioural approaches, psychodynamic thinking, mindfulness-based techniques, and solution-focused work, always chosen in response to the individual rather than applied by default.
For clients who find comfort or meaning in their faith, Yunus can incorporate Islamic perspectives into the therapeutic process where this feels genuinely helpful. This is never assumed or imposed. It is simply available.

What to expect in a session

Every session is confidential, structured, and led by your needs. There is no pressure to disclose anything you are not ready to share. You are welcome to arrive with an agenda or with nothing more than a feeling. Both are fine starting points.
Who Ease Consultancy Supports

Counselling for individuals, couples, and families across all walks of life

Yunus has worked with clients from a genuinely wide range of backgrounds, ages, cultures, and circumstances. Whether you are a young adult navigating identity and pressure, a couple trying to rebuild something that has broken down, or someone in later life facing grief or significant change, Ease Consultancy has supported people in very similar situations.

His caseload over the years has included work with individuals referred through NHS partnerships, young people supported in school settings, community groups across Bolton and Greater Manchester, and private clients based across the UK and internationally.

The one thing every client shares: they came looking for a space to be heard. That is exactly what Ease Consultancy offers.

Breaking Down Barriers

Counselling available in English, Urdu, Gujarati, and Hindi

Language is deeply personal. Speaking in your mother tongue, or the language you think in when you are most vulnerable, can make the difference between a session that scratches the surface and one that goes somewhere meaningful.

Yunus offers sessions in English, Urdu, Gujarati, and Hindi. Clients are welcome to use whichever language, or combination of languages, feels most natural to them. There is no need to decide in advance.

This also extends to cultural understanding. Yunus is aware of the specific pressures, stigmas, and expectations that can surround mental health in South Asian and Muslim communities. You will not need to explain the context from scratch. That understanding is already there.

Start with a conversation

The first session does not need to be a big commitment. It is simply a chance to meet, to see whether this feels right, and to talk through what you are hoping counselling might offer.

Yunus offers a free initial consultation so that you can make that decision without any pressure.
